Taking 5 minutes to show some Sage appreciation!
Another character i like currently lost in comic limbo.
Today I learned to rollerblade!! YAAAY! It was mildly painful and I know they’re not rollerskates and that I am no girl, but I feel one step closer to recreating the awesomeness of this panel in my life!
One of my favourite parts of the Ms Marvel series and oh so cool! Carol has just taken Karla’s Moonstone, leaving her powerless.
Love it.
I can’t be the only one that thinks Man-Thing is actually kinda cute in a weird gangly monster way? Bless.
More evidence of Ms Marvel being awesome. If anyone deserved a hit to the face it’s Sentry (I can’t stand Sentry) and Carol got the honour of being the one to do it!
30 Day Marvel Challenge
Day #1: Your favourite character - Ms. Marvel
Ms. Marvel is just one of those characters I really like, mostly due to how excellent her recently ended series was. The rivalry between her and Moonstone posing as Ms Marvel during Dark Reign was one of my favourite parts of that as a whole. She is criminally overlooked in Avengers teams and needs more dialogue though!
Also, what happened to her cat, Chewie? Confiscated by Norman Osborne maybe, I don’t know.
“Really Scott, what did you do? And did you do it shirtless?”
I like to break this out every so often, because I still live in hope that X-Drunks will be the next X-Men book. And you know you do too.

Quest for Magik
Found this volume in a shop in Sheffield and had to invest, what with them being so elusive. I appreciate Magik’s horns in the cover, pointy, and she looks like she should be in the process of lighting a cigarette with that flamey finger, especially with that evil eye going on there! Actually, thinking about it, do any X-Men smoke? Or is that far too taboo amongst this whole bunch of self preservationist mutants and more health conscious readers? Mysterious! (Wolverine doesn’t count in this though, healing and all, blah)
Anyway, inspired by Magik, I would like to order 1 generic beast from limbo for my transportation needs, I imagine it would be quicker than the bus.
If I learnt one thing about Galacta after reading this one shot, it’s that she has major issues with food and her father Galactus. It’s not hard to miss, considering she states these issues constantly; almost relentlessly.
That gripe can be forgiven though. This Galacta one shot was originally published in four parts online before it was bundled together and printed. Forgiven, kind of. Still a little too much repitition for me personally.
Gali, who calls her self a ‘Godlike cosmic omnivore’, has constant internal monologue going on; it seriously never stops. I would be more annoyed at this if they didn’t have her using twitter at the same time, editing herself down. The irony, oh the irony!
The best part of the book was the art. Sevilla adds a slight manga feel to the comic, which suits the rebelious and young attitude of Galacta. She hates any aspect of herself that resembles her father (her hunger) but knows he is the only one who can help with her recent bowel trouble.
And there’s a twist ending. Kinda.
In short? Pretty, entertaining fluff. Just expect a lot of well trodden ground by the end.

I very much agree! I think Galacta is an interesting idea for a character with some potential if put in the right hands, but it just needs that something extra.
